REMEMBER

(Words and Music : Alf Davies)

I used to sleep at night, never toss and turn
Went out like a light, but I never learned
Then I met a man, and he said to me –
Do you remember your dreams.....?

So I took a break, thought I'd have a try
I was heading straight, in my bed I'd lie
I remembered well what the man had said
Try to take care of your head.....

I don't believe I can dream anymore
I've stopped retrieving, can't read the score
No longer dreaming, I lean.....a little more

I wake up in the morning
My eyes are all red
Wide-eyed in the dawning
With my dream world, all blackened, and dead.....

Slow and steady now as the dreams return
Though I'm sometimes down, there's one thing I've learned
As the wise man said, when it's time to go
Dreaming can help you, ride the blow....

I keep trying, to dream again
We are all dying, dreams are our friends
No good relying, on life.....in the end
No good relying, on life.....in the end
No good denying, your life.....in the end
